Getting a mortgage does not have to be a stressful experience. And if you’re looking into getting pre-approved and you’ve been putting it off, I understand. I always say I am the dentist of the real estate industry. People will put off dealing with the lending side until they absolutely have to. And I understand how that feels.
In this video, I’ll describe exactly what the pre-approval process will look like. The first step is optional, but I highly recommend it and that is to schedule a discovery call with me. The best way is to just schedule it directly on my calendar and then I will call you at that time from my cell phone. We’ll talk for about 10 or 15 minutes. I will answer any questions you have and I will ask you some questions just to determine if what you’re looking to do is something I could help you with and also which documents I might need.
After that first call, then I will send you some homework. That homework is going to be a mortgage application which will be basically, you know, 100 questions all about your financial history. It will be a document checklist. These will be items like IDs, W2s, pay stubs, bank statements that is tailored to your situation based on our phone call and based on what you put in the application. And then you will also have a credit report. You will pull your own credit and you will get the report and I will get the report at the exact same time.
Once you’ve completed your homework, I will process everything. That takes me two business days or less. Now if you’ve been putting this off and now you’re in a hurry because you’re in love with a house, no worries, just let me know. I can rush it the best that I can, but I always guarantee two business days or less.
And then once I’ve processed everything, I will reach back out for the third and final step. And that is our free financial consultation. On this call, it’ll be either on the phone or on Zoom. We will look at the results together, review some preliminary numbers and talk about your next steps.
And so it actually is a pretty quick and relatively painless process. But at the end of it, you’ll know exactly where you stand, you’ll know what to expect, and we’ll be focused on your comfortable monthly payment range. Obviously, I will give you the lender’s maximum, but the lender’s always more comfortable than you are. So we will be focused on your comfortable payment range. And by the end of that process, you should feel very confident about where you stand and what you want to do next.
